Shape 3010 is an extensive collaboration between the City of Leuven and Leuven 2030, with the support of EIT Climate-KIC.
The City of Leuven wants to be a a caring, green and thriving city. A warm place, where everyone can feel at home.
Besides that, Leuven wants to be a leading example on how cities can tackle challenges effectively and intelligently. The city does this in collaboration with as many committed and involved inhabitants, organisations, knowledge institutions and entrepreneurs, as possible.
Furthermore, Leuven has the ambition to be one of the leading cities when it comes to innovation and experimentation. Leuven has everything it takes to be a lab for the future and wants to show how things can be done differently, by visualising a promising future already today.
Leuven 2030's mission is to work with its partners towards a sustainable, climate-friendly, resilient and liveable Leuven.
Leuven 2030 does this by developing a strong network, by increasing involvement, support and participation, by combining and providing knowledge and innovative practices, and by setting up financial and social structures. In this way, the non-profit organisation wants to create a solid ground for impactful, climate neutral initiatives.
EIT Climate-KIC is a knowledge and innovation community committed to supporting projects and processes that help society move towards a climate-neutral and carbon-free future, with expertise and financial resources. It is part of the European Union's European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
Through their partnership with EIT Climate-KIC, the City of Leuven and Leuven 2030 are working with 7 climate-ambitious European cities (including Copenhagen, Vienna, Amsterdam, Madrid and Milan) to explore how fast system transformations can be made possible.
